Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A man who entered a vacant lot in the El Pedregal neighborhood, compelled by a physiological need, ended up discovering the decomposing body of a person.
The incident occurred near midnight on Playa del Carmen Boulevard and 38th Avenue. According to reports, the impromptu explorer entered the vacant lot seeking privacy, but after taking only a few steps, he was met with a smell so strong it immediately ended his initial intention.
Upon approaching, he discovered the source: a human body in an advanced state of decomposition. The man, frightened, ran out and requested help by calling 911.
Officers from the Secretary of Citizen Security arrived within minutes, verified the report, and cordoned off the area. The stench was already revealing the scene even before the uniformed officers located the body.
The identity of the deceased and the cause of death are currently unknown.
