Cuban Migrants Rescued by Cruise Ship

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Ten migrants of Cuban origin were rescued in the waters of Quintana Roo by the crew of the cruise ship Enchantment of the Seas after they were spotted adrift in an improvised vessel.

Details of the Rescue

According to the report, the group consisted of eight men and two women. The cruise ship crew provided the migrants with food and first aid before transferring them to elements of the Mexican Secretary of the Navy (Semar).

Health Status of the Rescued

The commander of the XI Naval Zone, Antonio Muñoz, reported that the migrants are in good health and show no signs of dehydration. Following a medical evaluation, they were turned over to the National Migration Institute (INM), where the corresponding legal procedure will be followed.

Coordination Between Authorities and Crew

The rescue was made possible through coordination between the international cruise ship's crew and Mexican Navy personnel, who acted immediately to safeguard the lives of the migrants.
