Cozumel, Mexico — On Friday, the majestic cruise ship "Star of the Seas," flying the flag of the Bahamas, arrived for the first time at the Island of the Swallows, docking at the SSA México Terminal. Having departed from Roatán, Honduras, the vessel will continue its voyage to Port Canaveral, Florida.

With a length of 364 meters and a total of 8,431 people on board between passengers and crew, the "Star of the Seas" positions itself as one of the most imposing and modern cruise ships in the world.

This arrival reflects the vision of Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, who promotes a more competitive, innovative tourism sector focused on the well-being of Quintana Roo families. Under her leadership, Quintana Roo is consolidating its position as a world-class destination that attracts investment and strengthens the local economy.

Representing the governor, the Director General of the Integral Port Administration of Quintana Roo (APIQROO), Vagner Elbiorn Vega, officially welcomed the cruise ship. He was accompanied by Captain Robert Hempstead, executives from the Royal Caribbean cruise line, the Municipal President of Cozumel, José Luis Chacón, and the Undersecretary of Tourism, Pablo Casas, at a plaque exchange ceremony that reaffirmed the importance of these arrivals for the economic and social development of the state.

"The arrival of the Star of the Seas confirms the confidence of cruise lines in Quintana Roo as a safe, competitive, and world-class destination. Thanks to the drive of our Governor Mara Lezama, these cruise ships not only strengthen tourist activity but also generate direct well-being for Quintana Roo families, reflecting her government's commitment to the prosperity and development of all," emphasized Elbiorn Vega.
