Artwork from Fabio Latorre Ramírez's 'Natural Environment' exhibition at the Cozumel Museum of the Island

Cozumel, Quintana Roo — The Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation (FPMC) has invited the public to the opening of “Natural Environment,” a painting exhibition by artist Fabio Latorre Ramírez, set for Friday, February 27 at 8:00 p.m. at the Museum of the Island.

The free exhibition offers a visual journey through landscapes and scenes where nature interacts with architecture and daily life, rendered in watercolor with delicacy and luminosity.

The collection features works created in 2025, capturing iconic locations ranging from Cozumel’s docks to the magical city of Antigua, Guatemala. In each piece, the artist highlights the serenity of bodies of water, the harmony of colonial architecture, and the vitality of beaches and gardens, inviting viewers to contemplate their surroundings with sensitivity and appreciation.

Museum director Isela Carrillo Cupul explained that the exhibition also gives voice to wildlife and human presence in harmony with their environment, promoting a renewed perspective on the landscape surrounding the community.

Originally from the Colombia-Venezuela border, Latorre Ramírez began his artistic training with teacher José Flores and, after a pause in his medical career, resumed his painting vocation by participating in gatherings and collective salons in Venezuela. He co-founded the “Salvador Moreno” group and was a prominent figure in the VII Salon of Doctors in Art. In Mexico, he received recognition from the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation in 2005 and has maintained an active presence in cultural events in Quintana Roo during 2025.
