The Chilean DJ, known professionally as "anton", tragically passed away due to a heart attack in Tulum, Mexico. The 29-year-old artist had arrived in the area just last week with the intention of teaching DJ courses. Yerko Antonio Reyes Sanhueza, the DJ's real name, reportedly died on Monday, January 13th, as confirmed by Captain José Roberto Rodríguez Bautista, head of the Secretariat for Security and Citizen Protection.
Captain Bautista clarified during a media meeting that there are no missing foreign citizens in the municipality. This statement was made in response to various cases that have recently emerged on social media. It's important to note that the DJ was initially reported as missing by his family and friends after he was last seen at a party during the Zamna Festival in the early hours of January 13th. However, Bautista reported that Reyes Sanhueza had independently sought medical attention at the Amerimed hospital, where he sadly succumbed to a cardiopulmonary arrest.
Both the Chilean consulate and the State Attorney General's office are currently working on the necessary procedures for the repatriation of Reyes Sanhueza's body.
