Motul, Yucatan, Mexico — The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) will conduct planned power outages in the municipality of Motul, Yucatan, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, as part of maintenance work on the electrical grid.
The state-owned utility announced the temporary service suspension will affect Motul and several surrounding towns for approximately eight hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

- Mesatunich
- Kambul
- Kaxatah
- Tanyá
- Dzununcán
- Kancabchén
- San Pedro Cámara
- Kiní
- Sacapuc
- Timul
Authorities recommend residents take precautions during the outage, including disconnecting sensitive electronic devices like computers, monitors, and internet modems to prevent damage from voltage fluctuations.
Residents should also minimize opening refrigerators to keep food cold and ensure electronic devices are fully charged before the power cuts begin.
