Cancún, Quintana Roo — Cancún will host the Euro-American Congress on Ethics, Responsibility and Environment (ERA) on March 23-24, bringing together specialists, professors and students to discuss sustainability and environmental responsibility.
The forum aims to foster conversations and connections between professionals and students to build a more sustainable future, while also addressing practical challenges faced by management and technical professionals.
German Gallego Castrillon, founder of the inaugural congress, said the event seeks to address two gaps undermining genuine sustainability: the execution gap, where rhetoric often fails to translate into operations, investment and governance; and the trust gap, characterized by greenwashing, empty reporting and fragile reputations.
“ERA 2026 is a high-criteria conversation to make the best decisions when environmental and ethical issues are no longer just topics, but the terrain where trust, reputation and viability are won or lost in the value chain, in destinations, in water, in biodiversity, in what is communicated and what is demonstrated,” Gallego said.
He added that the event will emphasize three key messages: sustainability must be proven rather than declared, with less narrative and more operational evidence; applied ethics, where the line between communication and exaggeration poses real risks for consumers, investors and partners; and that nature and water are no longer just strategies, as biodiversity, water availability and territorial resilience directly impact business continuity, tourism and communities.
