“Outrage in Cancún: Hotel Workers Protest Unpaid Profits”

Over 600 workers from the Royal Solaris and GR Solaris hotels in Cancún staged a demonstration today, accusing the company of failing to distribute profit shares on schedule.

Mario Machuca, head of the Revolutionary Confederation of Workers and Peasants (CROC) in Cancún, stated that the company had announced they would not be making the expected payment. This is despite the fact that the payment is mandated by article 127 of the Constitution.

Following a halt in operations and subsequent negotiations, it was agreed that the workers would receive compensation equivalent to 25 days of their salary.
