Cancún, Mexico — For this December holiday season, Cancún is the preferred international destination for U.S. travelers, according to data released by the firm AAA Travel based on its traveler reservations.
In third place, according to the list, is Cozumel. From Mexico, Puerto Vallarta also appears among the preferences.
The government of Quintana Roo, headed by Mara Lezama Espinosa, has transformed the tourism model and promoted offerings that provide new and pleasant experiences for tourists, which has allowed the state to be positioned among the main preferences of U.S. visitors.
This model promotes that tourism success is reflected in shared prosperity, in the economy of the industry’s workers, for the well-being of the families that serve and provide the best services to their visitors.
The AAA Travel data considers the support of S&P Global Market Intelligence, which determined that U.S. travelers are seeking warm environments for these Christmas holidays.
Likewise, this year an increase of 2.2% in the number of travelers is anticipated compared to last year.
