Cancún Launches 24/7 WhatsApp Service for Citizen Reports

Cancún Mayor Ana Paty Peralta announces the launch of the ChatCun WhatsApp service for citizen reports.

Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Benito Juárez municipality has launched “ChatCun,” a new digital citizen service channel that operates 24 hours a day via WhatsApp.

Mayor Ana Paty Peralta announced the service, which uses the number 998 778 4500, aiming to strengthen communication between the municipal government and residents.

The system allows citizens to submit reports, requests, inquiries, and complaints. It can classify and route issues to the appropriate departments, generate tracking numbers, provide guidance, and close cases with evidence of resolution. It can also refer matters to external agencies when needed.

ChatCun supports sending images, videos, and audio, expanding communication options for people with reading or writing difficulties.

María Fagni Gallegos Cruz, director of Citizen Services, said the system was designed with an integrated and personalized approach, especially to serve vulnerable groups such as the elderly, people with disabilities, women in situations of violence, children, adolescents, people in poverty, and migrants. It links their requests with health, security, social assistance, and legal services.

The municipal government hopes the tool will speed up response times and improve service for Cancún families through technology.
