Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Cancún Institute of Technology will expand its academic offerings with the launch of an Artificial Intelligence Engineering program, which will debut in the 2026 academic year with an initial intake of at least 50 students.
Institute director Carlos Tiburcio Martínez Martínez announced the start of the admissions process, noting that the new engineering program responds to growing labor market demand for professionals specialized in emerging technologies and the development of data-driven and automated solutions.
The application period for prospective students will remain open until March 24. Applicants must obtain an admission form and meet established requirements. Selection results will be published on April 13.
Martínez said the institute welcomes all interested candidates who complete their registration on time and meet the required academic standards.
Current Academic Offerings
The Cancún Institute of Technology currently enrolls approximately 4,500 students across ten programs: Architecture, Public Accounting, Civil Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Railway Engineering, Business Management Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Business Administration, and Tourism.
With the addition of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering program, the institution aims to strengthen its technological profile and offer students in the Mexican Caribbean an educational alternative aligned with new demands from the productive sector.
