Cancún, Mexico — Students from the Gastronomy program at the Universidad del Caribe (UNICARIBE) in Cancún have prepared a 300-meter-long cochinita torta in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record. The culinary endeavor was part of the celebrations for the university's 25th anniversary.

Governor Mara Lezama celebrated the achievement, stating, "Today is a great day because we are going to break the Guinness record with the longest cochinita torta. It is 300 meters long, and they are 150 students with Chef Guillermo Álvarez."

The preparation of the massive sandwich required substantial quantities of ingredients, including 580 kilograms of meat, 1,100 individual bread rolls, 120 kilograms of onion, and 13 kilograms of habanero chili, among other components.

Governor Lezama also praised the academic institution, saying, "Today we are very pleased to be here at this great university on its 25th anniversary. The Universidad del Caribe of Cancún is recognized for its academic quality, for its social impact outreach, and because it trains professionals with an ethical sense, humanist values, and a great social commitment."
