Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Cancún Carnival 2026 has attracted more than 30,000 attendees since it began on February 12, transforming the city into a vibrant celebration of music, tradition, and community.

The festival, which features daily parades, cultural performances, and concerts, has taken over three main venues: Parque de las Palapas, Malecón Tajamar, and Avenida Tulum. Each afternoon at 5:30 p.m., a colorful procession of 13 floats and dance troupes fills the streets, drawing families and spectators along the route.

At Parque de las Palapas, dance groups from preschool to adult categories have showcased elaborate costumes and synchronized choreography in competitive and exhibition performances. Over 2,500 participants took the stage this weekend, including the crowning of the 2026 carnival royalty.

Malecón Tajamar: Nighttime Hub

Malecón Tajamar has emerged as the festival’s nighttime epicenter, offering 68 food stalls, amusement rides, 80 artisan and entrepreneur booths, and a family-friendly atmosphere. The venue has hosted major concerts, including a performance by Banda La Adictiva that drew over 20,000 people on Friday night. The group played hits like “Escondidos,” “Llamada Perdida,” “En Peligro de Extinción,” and “El Fantasma.”

Earlier on Friday, singer Pablo Montero performed at Parque de las Palapas in an intimate set. Saturday’s lineup at Malecón Tajamar featured local talent, including Joel HLJ with urban rhythms, Keira Juárez singing “Rosa Pastel” and “Azúcar Amargo,” Julio Baró with romantic ballads, reggae group Corpusklan, and closing act Emerald Band.

Grand Finale with Bronco

The carnival will conclude tonight with a headline performance by the iconic group Bronco at Malecón Tajamar, promising an unforgettable finale to the weeklong festivities.
