Cancún Breaks Ground on Quintana Roo’s First Animal Hospital

Construction site of the new animal hospital in Cancún, Quintana Roo

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Mayor Ana Paty Peralta inspected construction of the first animal hospital in Quintana Roo, a project now 6% complete and on schedule.

The facility, located in Supermanzana 99, will feature equipped veterinary clinics, operating rooms, hospitalization and sterilization areas, plus a space for responsible adoptions. The first phase involves an investment exceeding 30 million pesos to provide professional care for pets and their owners.

“We came to supervise this emblematic project for our city, to which we’ve dedicated all our heart and effort,” Peralta told media and technical staff.

She noted that construction began just one month ago with the laying of the first stone. The mayor also urged community responsibility, delivering a direct message: “Don’t buy, adopt,” encouraging Cancún families to give stray animals or those at the Animal Welfare Center a second chance.
