Cancún, Quintana Roo — Cancun International Airport (AIC) has scheduled 509 flight operations for Saturday, a 12% increase from the 454 flights recorded the previous day, fueling expectations among tourism sector officials that the high season may be beginning.
The figure comfortably surpasses recent Saturday totals, which had not reached 500 services, leaving open the question of whether the airport has already entered peak season or if this is a normal weekend uptick.
The 509 operations will be handled by 35 airlines, connecting the airport to 19 domestic destinations and 64 international destinations.
Airports of the Southeast (ASUR) reported that of the total scheduled operations, 254 are arrivals — 85 domestic and 169 international — and 255 are departures, with 85 domestic and 170 international flights.
Airlines operating on Saturday include Aeroméxico, Aerolíneas Argentinas, Air Canada, Air Caraibes, Air Europa, Air France, Air Transat, Allegiant, American Airlines, Arajet, Avianca, Avianca Costa Rica, Breeze Airways, British Airways, Condor, Copa, Delta, Edelweiss, Flair Airlines, Frontier, Gol, JetBlue, LATAM Perú, Porter Airlines, Southwest, Sun Country, Thomson, TUI Airlines Netherlands, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines, Viva Aerobús, Volaris, Volaris Costa Rica, WestJet, and World2Fly.
International flights serve 64 destinations, including Amsterdam, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Bogotá, Boston, Brasília, Calgary, Charleston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Dublin, Istanbul, Fort Lauderdale, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Guatemala City, Harlingen, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Havana, Las Vegas, Lima, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Manchester, Medellín, Miami, Minneapolis, Montreal, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Newark, Norfolk, Orlando, Paris-Orly, Ottawa, Panama City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Punta Cana, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Francisco, San José (Costa Rica), San Salvador, St. Louis, Tampa, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington, Winnipeg, and Zurich.
Domestic flights cover 19 destinations: Chihuahua, Mexico City, Ciudad Juárez, Guadalajara, León, Monterrey, Morelia, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Santa Lucía, Tampico, Tijuana, Toluca, Torreón, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Veracruz, and Villahermosa.
