Body discovered in abandoned vehicle in Cancún neighborhood

Cancún, Quintana Roo — The body of a person was found inside an abandoned vehicle just meters from C5 surveillance cameras on Paseos Kusamil Boulevard in Supermanzana 110 on Friday night. The area remained cordoned off by state police and the navy.

Minutes before 11 p.m. on Friday, authorities received a report of a blue Aveo-type vehicle abandoned a few meters from the C5 video surveillance cameras, from which foul odors were emanating.

State police arrived as first responders and confirmed the discovery, subsequently requesting support from ministerial authorities to take charge of the corresponding investigations.

Neighbors in the area expressed surprise that the vehicle was abandoned just meters from the surveillance cameras and that there is no information about the alleged perpetrators.

Later, forensic experts from the state prosecutor’s office arrived to handle the processing and transfer of the body to the Semefo, as well as the vehicle to the prosecutor’s office yards.
