As part of its administrative modernization strategy and improvement of citizen services, the Benito Juárez Municipality is preparing to implement a municipal chatbot that will consolidate services and procedures from more than 60 departments and secretariats, announced municipal president Ana Patricia Peralta de la Peña.
The mayor explained that this technological tool arises from the need to simplify communication between citizens and the municipal government, as there are currently multiple contact numbers and channels that generate confusion among users.
“It will be a single number where all departments will be connected. Often people don’t know which one to call, and with this system they will be able to find information immediately,” she stated.
During system testing, which continues in development, Peralta de la Peña demonstrated the chatbot’s operation to media, showing how it allows users to consult procedure requirements, access municipal services, and display information automatically.
As an example, she indicated that when requesting information to process a birth certificate, the platform provides the corresponding steps and options.
In addition to consultations, the chatbot will allow electronic payments, such as property tax, as part of efforts to streamline processes and reduce service times, especially during high-demand periods.
The municipal president acknowledged that details related to information loading and full integration of some services are still being refined; however, she assured that the platform will be ready for its official presentation in January, though it is currently already available for use.
The municipal chatbot operates through the number 998 778 4505 and forms part of the local government’s efforts to strengthen digital governance, improve administrative efficiency, and facilitate public access to municipal services.
