Chetumal, Quintana Roo — A 29-year-old man has died after being shot in Chetumal. According to witnesses, his assailants were traveling in a white vehicle when they confronted him outside a city shopping center.

The victim, identified as Colin "G," a 29-year-old from Belize, sustained multiple gunshot wounds in what appears to have been a targeted attack. He was shot outside the closed shopping center at approximately 4:20 a.m. on Saturday. He was reported to have died in the hospital later that same day.

According to initial reports, officers from the Secretary of Citizen Security arrived at the scene after receiving a report of gunfire and found a man lying in the street with multiple injuries. He had been shot several times in the chest, his sides, and his left wrist.
