Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A coordinated operation by the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and the National Guard dealt a significant blow to drug trafficking in Playa del Carmen after executing two search warrants in the La Guadalupana neighborhood. The raids, authorized by control judges, targeted residences in Supermanzana 80 suspected of being used for small-scale drug distribution.
Raids Uncover Narcotics and Lead to Arrest
During the first operation, authorities seized fresh and dried plant material resembling marijuana inside a property. Nearby, officers apprehended Miguel Ángel “N,” who was found in possession of additional plant material matching the description of marijuana and a cell phone.
A second raid at another residence in the same neighborhood uncovered a cardboard box containing more green and dried vegetation with characteristics similar to marijuana.
Following the operations, both properties were secured and placed under the custody of the FGE. The detained individual and the seized evidence were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine the legal status of the suspect in accordance with statutory deadlines.
