Cancún, Mexico — At least four armed individuals robbed the jewelry store "Arte Joyero" located in the Gran Plaza shopping center on Monday night. Unofficial reports indicate the robbery occurred around 8 p.m. on the first floor of the busy commercial complex.

Details of the Robbery

Eyewitnesses stated that the suspects, dressed in black and some wearing motorcycle helmets, entered the store, threatened employees, and shattered display cases to steal visible merchandise.

Bystanders and workers from nearby stores fled the area upon hearing the sound of breaking glass and the robbers' shouts. One witness on the upper floor managed to record one of the assailants, who was armed with a pistol and standing guard at the entrance while accomplices carried out the theft.

Escape and Police Response

After completing the robbery, the suspects reportedly fled through the underground section of the plaza. Unconfirmed sources suggest they abandoned a motorcycle and may have stolen a car to escape the area.

Police arrived shortly afterward and launched a search operation, which remained active as of 9:30 p.m. Authorities have not yet disclosed the total value of the stolen items, and no injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
