Cancun, Mexico — A man was robbed of more than 100,000 pesos in cash Friday afternoon in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant in Cancun’s Supermanzana 92 neighborhood, authorities reported.
The armed assailants intercepted the victim as he returned to his car on Avenida José López Portillo, threatened him with firearms, and demanded the money before fleeing on motorcycles.

The man told investigators he had just withdrawn between 100,000 and 150,000 pesos from a bank branch to purchase a used vehicle. As he approached his car, several individuals confronted him, brandished weapons, and took the cash.
The suspects escaped quickly on motorcycles, complicating immediate pursuit. Police launched a search operation in the area and surrounding avenues.
Investigators from the State Prosecutor’s Office also arrived to collect evidence and begin an inquiry aimed at identifying and locating the perpetrators. No arrests have been made so far.
