Tulum, Quintana Roo — A suspected group of armed men reportedly entered the Diamante K hotel in the coastal zone of Tulum during the early hours of Wednesday, where they allegedly assaulted and threatened a security guard, according to information circulating on social media and internal message groups.
Preliminary reports indicate that at least five armed individuals forced their way onto the property and attacked the hotel’s security personnel during what is presumed to have been an attempted robbery. As of publication, authorities have not confirmed whether any items were stolen or if any suspects have been detained.
The incident has raised concern due to the hotel’s location within Tulum National Park, an area that is officially under 24-hour surveillance by the National Guard. The reported breach has prompted criticism among local residents, who note that while civilians are routinely subjected to thorough inspections when entering the park, criminal groups appear to move through the area with relative ease.
According to the same reports, the incident was immediately reported to the appropriate authorities in the early morning hours, with requests made to carry out the necessary investigative procedures and reinforce security in the area.
As of this writing, no official statements have been issued by the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP), the National Guard, municipal authorities, or hotel management. Authorities are expected to provide further information in the coming hours to clarify the circumstances, confirm the outcome, and outline any measures taken following the report.
