Relatives of the victim indicated that the individuals claimed they had to take the man to carry out a supposed errand, without showing documents or providing official information, which suggests they posed as authorities to commit the illegal deprivation of liberty.
After the “kidnapping,” neighbors in Tuzik requested support through the emergency number, so minutes later, elements of the Felipe Carrillo Puerto Municipal Police arrived, who carried out the initial procedures at the scene.
Search Operation Without Results
Upon confirming the illegal deprivation of liberty, the agents implemented a search operation in the community and surrounding areas to try to locate those responsible and the victim. However, after more than half an hour, the operation was suspended after obtaining no favorable results.
