Cancún, Quintana Roo — During the early hours of Saturday morning, a violent incident occurred on José López Portillo Avenue, near the Lombardo Toledano neighborhood, where a man riding a bicycle lost his life after being attacked with a firearm.
According to preliminary information, the aggression happened when the victim was traveling along that roadway toward Bonampak Avenue. During that journey, he was overtaken by unknown individuals traveling in a vehicle, from which they allegedly fired several shots before fleeing the scene.
Public security personnel and emergency responders arrived at the site and confirmed that the cyclist no longer showed vital signs. Initially, it was indicated that the body had multiple wounds caused by firearm projectiles.
The area was secured by authorities to allow for evidence collection and corresponding procedures, while a search operation was implemented in the surrounding area without any arrests reported so far.
The body was transported to the Forensic Medical Service for the required autopsy and remains unidentified. Ministerial authorities continue their investigations with the aim of clarifying the facts and locating those responsible.
