Riviera Maya, Mexico — The Mexican Association of Women Entrepreneurs (AMEXME), Riviera Maya Chapter, has announced the swearing-in ceremony for its new leadership board will take place on October 9. The protocol event will be attended by the National President of the organization.
Although the election assembly was held on January 30 and the new board began its functions in April, this date will formalize their appointment before authorities and fellow members.
Valeria Rinderstam, the chapter president, will lead the administration. She will be accompanied by Carla Toledo as First Vice President, Liliana Galván as Second Vice President, Lila López as Secretary, and Nelly Nava as Treasurer. Additionally, 16 director positions are being integrated with work teams and vocal members who will reinforce the various operational areas of the association.
Rinderstam highlighted that AMEXME Riviera Maya currently brings together 77 entrepreneurs from different sectors. She noted that this year the national organization marks six decades of existence, while the local chapter reaches 22 years of trajectory.
“We are a professional and personal support network that aids the development of our businesses and our individual growth,” she stated.
Among the challenges for the new board, the president emphasized the need to “be a leader of leaders” and to give continuity to existing programs, with an emphasis on the professionalization of projects, training, strategic alliances, and market access.
A central objective will be to strengthen the business and commercial agenda, with greater participation in national and international forums, as well as the integration of a specific area for international business.
In this framework, the association signed an agreement with the Federation of Tourism Entrepreneurs (FETUR), which is organizing the World Travel Tourism Summit (WTTS) in Cozumel during November. The alliance will be valid for three years and seeks to generate collaborative spaces so that entrepreneurs from the Riviera Maya can expand their presence in the tourism sector beyond the local sphere.
“This alliance is not limited to tourism companies, because the transversality of tourism allows many other sectors to participate and benefit,” explained Rinderstam.
Furthermore, she advanced that there will be opportunities linked to global trends such as startup labs, green bonds, and technological projects.
Another focus of the management will be sustainability, with actions aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and training that promotes responsible practices among the members. The president recalled that AMEXME maintains a specific directorate in this area and that the incorporation of environmental criteria in affiliated companies is encouraged.
In financial matters, the association has agreements with banking institutions such as Cuspi and Banorte, which allow members to access training in financial products, update newsletters, and training events. These links, she said, allow members to explore innovative tools, even in emerging markets like cryptocurrencies and stablecoins.
Rinderstam assured that AMEXME Riviera Maya will continue collaborating with chambers of commerce, universities, and the government in working groups and citizen, tourism, and economic development committees.
“Our commitment is to be present in all spaces where opportunities are generated, because the growth of our companies is linked to the development of the destination,” she affirmed.
Finally, she invited women entrepreneurs from the region to approach the association and learn about the activities they promote.
“AMEXME is a platform and an ecosystem where relationships and business networks are created, but it is also a personal and professional support network,” she said.
The swearing-in ceremony is thus shaping up to be a symbolic act that consolidates the work begun months ago and marks the course of a new stage for entrepreneurs in the Riviera Maya.
