Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — Aguakan reported Saturday morning that it detected a leak in a 12-inch diameter water main that supplies the communities of Puerto Aventuras and Puerto Maya.
The leak is located on Federal Highway 307, on the Chetumal–Cancún stretch, in the slow lane heading from Akumal toward Puerto Aventuras, near the Palladium hotel. To carry out repairs, authorities implemented a partial lane closure, confining traffic to one of the two lanes in that direction.
Aguakan technical crews are working continuously at the site in coordination with the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) in Quintana Roo, with the goal of restoring water service by Saturday night.
The work area is properly marked to ensure the safety of motorists, and drivers are advised to proceed with caution and allow extra travel time.
Aguakan and SICT thanked the community for their understanding during the essential repair work.
Aguakan said it will promptly announce the completion of repairs through its official social media channels, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), under the handle DHC Aguakan. For reports or additional information, users can call the service line at 073.
