CANCÚN — In observance of International Day of the Fight Against Breast Cancer, Aguakan reaffirmed its commitment to community health and well-being by hosting a new edition of the "Pink Breakfast," in collaboration with the Association of Public Relations of the Mexican Caribbean (ARPCM). This gathering aimed to foster a culture of prevention and the timely detection of breast cancer, as well as to strengthen awareness about self-examination and comprehensive women's health care.
During the event, key topics were addressed concerning female empowerment, resilience, and the elimination of taboos surrounding the early detection of cancer. It was emphasized that a timely diagnosis represents an opportunity to save lives and should not be perceived as a sentence. In support of this cause, Aguakan provided free mammogram studies to women from the association, thereby reaffirming its commitment to health and prevention.
Carlos González, Head of Press and Public Relations for Aguakan, highlighted the importance of building solid and sustainable public relations over time, which allow for positioning this type of event in the private, governmental, and social spheres. He also underscored the relevance of involving more companies in these actions, encouraging their participation within Aguakan's Blue Network of Allies.
Addy Gamboa, President of the Association of Public Relations of the Mexican Caribbean (ARPCM), emphasized the relevance of this breakfast and its positive impact on Cancún society. She stated that the event no longer belongs solely to the association, but to everyone who lives in Cancún, consolidating itself as an emblematic event and a city tradition, of which she feels very proud. Furthermore, she stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen public relations in collaboration with Aguakan.
Alejandra Mayorga, Coordinator of Social Responsibility for Aguakan, invited more foundations and companies to join this cause as sensitive as breast cancer. She also urged businesswomen in the guild to continue supporting the company's social responsibility programs, reminding them that the doors of Aguakan are open to all of them.
The event saw the participation of Addy Gamboa, President of the ARPCM; Alejandra Mayorga, Coordinator of Community Relations for Aguakan; Yanet Guadarrama, Commercial Sub-Manager of Aguakan; Carlos González, Head of Public Relations for Aguakan; Adriana Barrara Ugalde, Director of Public Relations for the Cancún Planetarium; and Fabiola Sánchez, Representative of Social Responsibility for the ARPCM, among other personalities.
Through its Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Public Relations programs, Aguakan will continue to develop actions in favor of prevention and the well-being of women. With these initiatives, Aguakan reiterates its commitment to health, gender equity, and the strengthening of the social fabric in Quintana Roo, contributing to the well-being and quality of life of women inside and outside the organization.
