Barceló Hotel Crash Injures One in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — One person was injured in an accident that occurred on Wednesday morning near the Barceló hotel on Federal Highway 307. The incident was recorded around 7:30 a.m. at the U-turn located opposite the cenote area.

According to reports, the driver of a black Suzuki Swift entered the roadway without caution and crossed into the path of a taxi with the number 946, belonging to the "Lázaro Cárdenas del Río" union, which had the right of way and was traveling north.

The passenger in the private vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital by a private ambulance.

Officers from the Guardia Nacional, División Carreteras, arrived at the site to cordon off the area and coordinate the removal of the vehicles, which sustained severe damage and were taken to the impound lot for the corresponding procedures. (Agencia SIM)
