Cancún Drivers Protest Unfair Regulations

Digital platform drivers, affiliated with companies like Uber and Didi, staged a peaceful protest outside the Institute of Mobility of Quintana Roo (Imoveqroo) offices, located in Cancún's superblock 22. The demonstration was in response to recent inspections that the drivers believe are negatively impacting their operations. The protesters argue that the current review procedures and criteria used by Imoveqroo are unclear and inconsistent, leading to uncertainty and financial strain for their families.

Omar Pantaleon, a representative for the drivers, stated that the protest's goal was to initiate a dialogue with the institute's authorities. "We are not here to cause trouble or break rules. We simply want clarity and more considerate treatment that allows us all to continue operating efficiently," Pantaleon said. The drivers asked for a representative from Imoveqroo to hear their concerns and work towards mutually beneficial solutions. The peaceful protest underscores the drivers' desire to secure a transparent process and continue their work without unnecessary hindrances.
