Cancún, Mexico — The RCD Foundation A.C. has announced a new edition of Guerreros Fest, a charity run set to take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. on Cancún's iconic Malecón Tajamar.
The event aims not only to promote physical activity and family togetherness but also has a significant underlying purpose: to raise funds to provide 1,000 free medical studies focused on the early detection of breast and prostate cancer. These studies will include mammograms, ultrasounds, HPV tests, pap smears, and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests.
Since its inception, Guerreros Fest has positively impacted more than 2,600 people, combining sport, health, and community into a comprehensive experience. This year, the competition features new categories and a festive atmosphere, reaffirming its commitment to prevention and awareness of these diseases.
“Every year, thousands of lives are impacted by cancer. Guerreros Fest is an opportunity for us to come together, support the most vulnerable, and make a difference from within the community,” stated Alejandra Leyva, Director of the RCD Foundation.
The race will feature the following categories:
- Children: 400 m (ages 4–7), 800 m (ages 8–12)
- Adults: 2.5 km Walk, 5 km Run, and 10 km Run (divided into youth, open, master, and veteran divisions)
All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and an official medal. Furthermore, Guerreros Fest is joining the commemoration of Pinktober, the global campaign by Hard Rock Hotels, with solidarity activities that foster awareness about breast cancer.
Registration donations are accessible: 300 Mexican pesos for children and 400 pesos for adults. All proceeds will be directed toward providing free medical studies for vulnerable individuals, promoting the early detection of cancer, which is key to increasing survival rates.
Key figures from the community, including representatives from the Municipal Sports Institute and other local institutions, are scheduled to attend the event, reinforcing the collaborative nature of this initiative.
