Tulum, Mexico — Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo met with Víctor González Herrera, a representative of Farmacias Similares, to analyze the implementation of an innovative system for delivering medications using drones.

According to the details presented, the project seeks to transform how deliveries are made within the municipality, with the purpose of decreasing vehicular saturation and contributing to the reduction of contaminating emissions. The proposal is part of an alternative mobility model that bets on the use of new technologies with a sustainable focus.

Castañón Trejo emphasized that this initiative represents a turning point in the development vision for Tulum. “This is a delivery system through drones, an innovative and sustainable proposal that allows us to avoid congestion and reduce vehicular pollution,” he stated.

The mayor underscored that this type of action places the municipality on the path toward a modern city with environmental responsibility. “I am convinced that with ideas of this caliber we can build a Tulum that is more modern and responsible with the environment,” he affirmed.

The meeting with Farmacias Similares marks the beginning of a project that, if realized, would make Tulum one of the first municipalities in Quintana Roo to explore aerial distribution logistics through drones, with the objective of optimizing urban mobility and advancing toward a sustainable model.
