Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A joint operation between elements of the Grupo Centurión and personnel from the Secretary of the Navy resulted in the arrest of Olga Lidia ‘N’, a woman allegedly implicated in crimes against public health. She was caught manipulating multiple bags containing a green, dry herb, suspected to be marijuana.
The incident occurred on 15th Avenue North, between 10 Bis Street and 15 Bis Street, in the Nicte-Há neighborhood. During patrols, agents observed the woman acting suspiciously and proceeded with a stop, explaining the procedure to her and conducting a corresponding inspection in a legal manner and in accordance with established protocols.
During the search, authorities secured 86 small plastic ziploc bags containing the substance. They also confiscated a blue Redmi brand cell phone and an orange reusable eco-bag. All evidence was packaged and labeled following chain of custody guidelines to ensure its validity in the subsequent judicial process.
The woman was subsequently turned over to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office Combating Retail Drug Dealing (Fiscalía Especializada en Combate al Delito de Narcomenudeo), where the corresponding investigation file was initiated for crimes against public health in the modality of retail drug dealing.
The Prosecutor’s Office will continue with the investigation to determine if more people are involved and a possible connection to other related crimes. The case remains under investigation, and the Prosecutor’s Office will handle the corresponding procedures to clarify the facts and define the legal situation of the detainee, while surveillance patrols in the area continue.
