Mexico City — The Yucatán coast is set to receive two new hotel developments under the Wyndham brand, the result of an alliance between Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Mayakuná Luxury Group. The projects, to be located in the towns of Sisal and Telchac, are scheduled to begin operations in 2029 and will feature more than 130 oceanfront suites, generating over 500 direct jobs in the area.
During a presentation ceremony at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, Gerardo Herrera, founder of Mayakuná Luxury Group, stated that this announcement is of great importance for the Yucatecan Riviera. He emphasized that the alliance with Wyndham is synonymous with global hospitality and that these hotels represent an investment of more than 600 million pesos (approximately 30 million US dollars).
A key differentiator of this project is the creation of the Mayakuná Luxury Group membership, which will provide exclusive access to the four destinations that comprise its offering: two beach clubs, two adventure parks, and the Wyndham Sisal Kokai Puerto and Wyndham Telchac Kokai hotels.
The selection of Sisal and Telchac is a response to both the touristic potential and the exclusivity of these enclaves. “We wanted to create 130 rooms on the Yucatecan Riviera, on the best beaches, which are Sisal and Telchac,” explained Herrera.
This move aligns with Wyndham’s expansion strategy. “Mexico is an important country for us in Latin America, one of the main destinations where we want to grow. We seek to offer unique experiences in exclusive places, and Yucatán represents that: safety, credibility, and an exceptional natural environment,” said María Carolina Pinheiro, Vice President of Business Development for Latin America at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
