Cancún — The delegation of children who will represent Quintana Roo in the Ninth Mexican Mathematics Olympiad for Basic Education (OMMEDB) 2025 received a greeting and congratulations from Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa. The event will take place from September 19 to 21 in Oaxtepec, Morelos.

A Powerful Message for Women

“Your participation is a great academic achievement, but it is also a powerful message for the women who are present in science, technology, and the construction of a better Quintana Roo,” Mara Lezama told them.

She stated that the nine talents are raising high the name of Quintana Roo. Each one is an example that knowledge transforms and opens paths that seemed impossible. “And in this new way of governing, we are convinced that supporting your talent is investing in the future of our communities and in shared prosperity,” the governor added.

Commitment to Student Talent

It is worth mentioning that on July 29, during the public audience “La Voz del Pueblo” (The Voice of the People) held in Bacalar, teacher Claudia Esperanza Landeta Aké requested the support of Governor Mara Lezama so that these nine students could participate in the national competition.

Immediately and with a firm commitment to promote student talent, the Governor instructed the Secretary of Education, Elda María Xix Eúan, to manage the necessary procedures to provide the airline tickets that would allow the young people to attend this important national event.

The announcement was made public through a video disseminated on social media, where Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa reaffirmed the institutional support for the student community.

Support for the Trip to Oaxtepec

As a result of this management, the governor officially delivered the support, consisting of nine airline tickets for the students who make up the Quintana Roo delegation.

“We want you to go with the certainty that all of Quintana Roo is with you. You are a pride for our state, and we are sure that you will leave your mark in this national competition. Together, we are going for those medals!” she expressed.
