Man Arrested for Deer Shooting in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A man was arrested this morning after allegedly shooting and killing a deer in the Xcalacoco area, north of the city. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire in the region, known for its abundant wildlife, and discovered the deceased animal.

Swift Police Action Leads to Arrest

Officers from the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security located the dead deer and immediately launched a search operation in the area. The suspect was apprehended in accordance with protocol and handed over to the appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings.

Inspectors from the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) later arrived to document and remove the animal’s remains.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about wildlife protection in Quintana Roo, where illegal hunting remains a persistent challenge.
