Major Drug and Weapons Bust in Quintana Roo Raids

Quintana Roo, Mexico — The State Attorney General’s Office, in coordination with the Mexican Army, Navy, National Guard, and state and municipal police, executed five separate search warrants in the municipalities of Othón P. Blanco, Tulum, and Cozumel. The operations, authorized by judicial orders, resulted in the seizure of suspected narcotics and firearms.

Raids Yield Significant Drug and Weapon Seizures

The first operation took place at a property on Estrella de Mar Street, near Wahoo Street, in the community of Mahahual, Othón P. Blanco. Authorities confiscated small bags containing green, dry vegetation resembling marijuana and a solid substance suspected to be crack cocaine.

A second search was conducted at another residence on Estrellar de Mar Street in the same community. Officers secured packages containing a solid substance similar to crack cocaine, as well as green, dry vegetation believed to be marijuana.

In the town of Cacao, also in Othón P. Blanco, a third raid was carried out at a home on Cozumel Street. Authorities discovered bags containing a substance resembling crack cocaine and additional green, dry vegetation consistent with marijuana.

Tulum and Cozumel Operations

In Tulum, officers from multiple agencies, including the Municipal Public Security and Citizen Protection Secretariat, entered a property on Palma Azul Solar Street in the La Selva neighborhood. There, they secured dry herb resembling marijuana, white powder suspected to be cocaine, live ammunition, and a firearm.

In Cozumel, authorities executed a judicial order at a residence on Andrés Quintana Roo Avenue, between 85th South Bis Avenue and 90th South Avenue in the Repobladores neighborhood. They recovered green herb resembling marijuana and live ammunition.

Post-Operation Procedures

Following the raids, officers placed seizure seals on each property, which remain under the custody of the State Attorney General’s Office. No arrests were reported in connection with the operations.
