American Tourist Hurt in Tulum ATV Crash with Parked Van

Tulum, Mexico — An American tourist sustained injuries after crashing into a parked public transport van in downtown Tulum. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. when a bystander noticed the woman bleeding from her left knee following the collision.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Authorities were alerted, and emergency services promptly dispatched a medical unit to Avenida Tulum between Centauro and Orión streets in the Centro neighborhood. Paramedics found the woman seated with a laceration on her leg and transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to police reports, the woman was operating a green military-colored Italika ATV170 quad bike, traveling east to west on Avenida Tulum. Investigators stated that she failed to maintain a safe distance and collided with the rear of a stationary Toyota Hiace van, license plate B-187-TMF, which had stopped to let passengers disembark.

No further details about the victim’s condition or potential charges have been released.
