Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Guadalupe "N," also known as Gabriela "N," a 48-year-old woman referred to as "La Comandante Bombón," was arrested by agents of the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office during an operation conducted on May 29 in the Enrique Ramírez y Ramírez neighborhood of Othón P. Blanco.

Seizure of Drugs and Evidence of Threats

The suspect, originally from Mexico City and a former officer with the Cancún Municipal Police, was found in possession of multiple narcotics, including cocaine, marijuana, "tusi," and dried herb in tubes. Authorities also confiscated several cell phones, bank cards, paperwork bearing Telcel logos, and an envelope containing a phone number allegedly linked to threats against the father of a victim.

Connection to Armed Attack and Criminal Activities

During a Security Cabinet press conference held on June 2, officials stated that "La Comandante Bombón" may be connected to an armed attack on May 26 in Alfredo V. Bonfil, Benito Juárez, which left a woman identified as Fabiola "N" injured. The victim worked as a receptionist at the community hall of Luis Echeverría Álvarez.

The arrest followed an investigation tracing threats related to the attack back to the former officer's residence. A search warrant was executed in coordination with an interagency task force, uncovering evidence suggesting her involvement in drug trafficking, extortion, and armed assaults in northern Quintana Roo.

The suspect was brought before a judge, who ordered preventive detention pending a hearing scheduled for June 5 to determine her legal status. Notably, she had been arrested in 2020 for similar offenses but was later released. Since then, she has been linked to multiple crimes, including the murder of one of her sons at Plaza Cancún Mall.

Authorities also allege her participation in kidnappings in southern Quintana Roo and her alliance with a powerful criminal organization operating across the state.

The case remains under investigation as officials work to establish further connections to ongoing criminal activities in the region.
