Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Authorities in Playa del Carmen conducted a series of raids targeting suspected drug distribution points, resulting in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of illicit substances. The operations took place in neighborhoods identified as high-risk zones due to ongoing criminal activity.

Raids in “Red Flag” Neighborhoods

The raids were carried out in the Luis Donaldo Colosio colony and the Villas del Sol subdivision, areas previously flagged by local authorities as hotspots for illegal drug sales. Following multiple complaints, law enforcement executed search warrants at several properties, confiscating narcotics and detaining suspects linked to alleged small-scale drug trafficking.

Details of the Operations

The first operation occurred at a residence on Canoras Street in the Villas del Carmen subdivision, where officers seized crystal methamphetamine. Nearby, José Nicanor “N” was apprehended after authorities found prohibited substances in his possession during a search.

A second raid took place on 108th Street in the Luis Donaldo Colosio colony, where officers recovered packets of marijuana and crystal meth. Shortly after, two suspects—Juan Carlos “N” and Bladimir “N”—were detained nearby after allegedly engaging in a drug exchange.

A final search warrant was executed on 80th Street in the same colony, leading to the seizure of additional crystal meth and marijuana.

The detained individuals were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, where their legal status will be determined within the constitutional timeframe. Authorities also placed seals on the raided properties, which remain under official custody pending further investigation.

The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed the operations were part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the region.

Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the ongoing investigations.
