The incident was reported to emergency services when a distressed mother contacted authorities, alleging that an unknown individual had called her cellphone demanding a large sum of money in exchange for her children’s safety.

Officers from the Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat (SSCM) responded immediately upon receiving the report. The mother, who was waiting on Venado Street, was met by authorities who activated priority response protocols.
