A family has accused the General Hospital of Playa del Carmen of medical negligence following the death of their relative, Eduardo J.F. They claim that a series of medical errors and inadequate care resulted in his death.

Eduardo was admitted to the hospital on January 13, 2025, following three days of appendicitis symptoms. He remained in the hospital for more than a month and a half. During this period, his family alleges that he suffered from numerous complications due to poor medical care. These complications included a lack of necessary medications and clinical studies, which the family had to source from the private sector.

Eduardo eventually succumbed to acute pancreatitis. Despite their grievances, the family says they have received no response from either the hospital authorities or the state government. They are calling for improvements in the hospital to prevent similar cases of negligence, where appendicitis can escalate to death from septic shock and acute pancreatitis.

This tragic incident occurred on February 26, 2025, at the same hospital. Eduardo's family and friends have shared their experience on social media, urging authorities to take action to improve medical care at the Playa del Carmen hospital.

Their posts have garnered significant attention, with many social media users expressing solidarity with the family and demanding a thorough investigation into the events.
