The Yucatan Government, in conjunction with the Federal Government, has pledged to preserve the Alacranes Reef National Park and the North Bajos National Park. This agreement aims to protect marine biodiversity and promote sustainable development within these significant natural spaces.

The conservation strategy includes a range of measures such as ecosystem monitoring, control of invasive species, and the encouragement of sustainable tourism practices. Educational programs will also be initiated, targeting local communities to increase awareness about the importance of preserving these sites.

The National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) will collaborate with the State Government to implement projects that minimize the impact of human activities within these protected areas. Actions will include fishing regulation and ongoing monitoring of marine ecosystems to ensure their long-term protection.

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena, present at the agreement signing, emphasized the importance of these initiatives in preserving the state's natural heritage. He stated, "This agreement not only protects our ecological wealth but also ensures a sustainable future for the next generations."
