Between August 10 and 16, 2024, Quintana Roo reported 7 new cases of Covid-19 and 2 deaths from the virus, according to the state's Health Department (SESA). This brings the total number of cases since 2020 from 124,543 to 124,550, and the total number of deaths from 4,498 to 4,500.
In 2024, 102 positive cases of Covid-19 and 11 deaths have been reported in Quintana Roo. Hospital occupancy rates stand at 0.6% in the northern zone and 0.0% in the southern zone. The number of follow-up cases has increased from 5 to 7.
SESA reports that a total of 3,658,148 vaccines have been administered from January 2021 to the present, with no new doses recorded in the past week. The breakdown of vaccinations by location is as follows: 218,317 in Cozumel, 161,810 in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, 42,844 in Isla Mujeres, 496,306 in Othón P. Blanco, and 1,759,900 in Benito Juarez. In addition, 80,319 vaccines have been administered in José María Morelos, 59,108 in Lázaro Cárdenas, 630,150 in Solidaridad, 90,528 in Tulum, 66,300 in Bacalar, and 52,566 in Puerto Morelos.
SESA also reports a total of 120,043 recoveries from the disease, with 26 suspected cases currently under investigation.
