Playa del Carmen — A total of 127 teams are participating in the Club Jaguar 2025 International Beach Volleyball Festival being held at the Fundadores beach in this city.

The sporting event, which concludes this Sunday, began yesterday afternoon with several matches between youth teams and was officially inaugurated this morning at the Fundadores park. The Municipal Sports Institute of Playa del Carmen and the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat) directorate are organizing this event in coordination.

Mauricio Barbosa, the festival's coordinator, reported that the ninth edition of this event includes teams from the United States, Switzerland, Canada, and the Dominican Republic, as well as from other parts of Mexico.

He detailed that the categories participating in the tournament are Youth, Open, and Veterans, in both the women's and men's divisions.

The organizer highlighted that the nine courts, which were installed during the week, are in excellent condition for the development of this tournament.

He indicated that a total of 150 qualifying matches will take place this Saturday, while the prizes for each category will be decided on Sunday with the final competitions.

"Thanks to the support of the authorities, every tournament we have held has been a success. The weather is perfect, the sand is impeccable. What more could we ask for?" he stated.

The tournament, which began in 2017, has established itself over the years as a benchmark event on the international beach volleyball calendar, attracting dozens of teams from various parts of the world.
