12 People Formally Charged for Domestic Violence in Quintana Roo; Two More Arrested

Playa del Carmen, Q. Roo — The Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has announced that 12 individuals have been formally linked to trial for alleged domestic violence and failure to meet family support obligations. Additionally, two more suspects were arrested on similar charges across several municipalities in the state.

Playa del Carmen

  • Diego José “N” is accused of threatening his partner and her daughter with a knife at their home in Puerto Aventuras.
  • Julio César “N” was arrested for physically assaulting his ex-partner.
  • David “N” faces charges for similar acts against his current partner.

Othón P. Blanco

  • Daniel Roberto “N,” Carlos “N,” Isaías “N,” and Carlos Alfonso “N” were all charged with domestic violence.
  • Lucía “N” was charged for abusive behavior toward a minor under her care.

José María Morelos

  • Rolando “N” is accused of physically and verbally assaulting a victim whose identity is protected.
  • Oyuki Beatriz “N” faces charges for abuse against her teenage son.

Cozumel

  • Saúl Isaac “N” was arrested and charged for physically attacking his partner, following a detention by the Citizen Security Secretariat.

Benito Juárez (Cancún)

  • Manuel Antonio “N” was caught pulling a woman by her hair in public after she cried out for help. He was immediately detained by police on patrol in Colonia Andrés Quintana Roo.

Child Support Violation

  • Edwin Gamaliel “N” was charged for failing to provide child support for his three minor children, accumulating a debt of 92,886 pesos dating back to August 2022.

Additional Arrests

  • Arrest warrants were executed for David “N” (Othón P. Blanco) and Gonzalo “N” (Felipe Carrillo Puerto) for alleged domestic violence.

Preventive Detention

Seven of the accused—Carlos “N,” David “N,” Carlos Alfonso “N,” Saúl Isaac “N,” Gonzalo “N,” Julio César “N,” and Manuel Antonio “N”—were placed under pre-trial detention as a precautionary measure while judicial proceedings continue.

All individuals are currently in custody and will remain under judicial supervision while their legal status is determined.

The FGE emphasized its ongoing commitment to combatting gender-based violence and holding offenders accountable across the state of Quintana Roo.
