Chetumal, MX — The weather forecast for Quintana Roo indicates heavy rains with isolated very heavy downpours, measuring between 50 to 75 millimeters, according to a report from the National Meteorological Service (SMN). The agency also forecasts maximum temperatures ranging from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius.

For the Yucatan Peninsula, the SMN anticipates a temperate environment with a partially cloudy sky through the morning. The afternoon is expected to bring hot conditions, with a partly to mostly cloudy sky and isolated intense rains accompanied by electrical discharges in central Yucatan, in addition to isolated very heavy rains in Campeche and Quintana Roo. These rains could lead to puddles and flooding.

Winds from the east and northeast are forecast at 10 to 20 km/h, with gusts of up to 40 km/h across the Yucatan Peninsula.

A low-pressure channel over the Gulf of Mexico slope, combined with atmospheric instability, is expected to generate very heavy to isolated intense rains in the eastern and southeastern parts of the country, including the Yucatan Peninsula.
