Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A motorcyclist sustained injuries this morning after a car driven by a U.S. citizen struck him on Playa del Carmen Boulevard.
Authorities said the driver of the private vehicle failed to stop at a sign at the intersection with 34th Avenue, colliding with the motorcyclist who had the right of way.
The man suffered leg injuries and received treatment from paramedics at the scene. He did not require transport to a hospital.
The motorcycle sustained damage to its fuel lines, causing a gasoline leak.
Traffic police officers responded to the incident and towed both the car and the motorcycle to an impound lot pending payment for damages.
