Cancún, Mexico — Two young people died and two more were seriously injured early this morning following a violent crash on Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard in this city.
The tragic accident occurred around 3 a.m. near the Alfredo V. Bonfil delegation.
According to unofficial reports, the young people were traveling in a black BMW when they crashed at high speed into a containment wall belonging to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).
After the violent impact, the young people were trapped in the twisted metal, severely injured.
Witnesses requested paramedic assistance, who minutes later confirmed the death of two of the occupants and transported the injured to various hospitals in the city.
It appears the young people involved in the accident are residents of Alfredo V. Bonfil; however, this information has not yet been confirmed.
Elements of the Traffic Directorate took charge of the investigation to determine the exact causes of this violent accident.
The bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service, where in the coming hours they will be delivered to their families.
