Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo – A fire broke out at a residence in the Bonanza neighborhood of Playa del Carmen late Tuesday night, trapping two minors and one adult inside before neighbors intervened to rescue them.
The incident occurred just before midnight on Tuesday at a home on Coto 3 Street in the Bonanza subdivision. Residents in the area alerted emergency services after noticing the house was on fire while its occupants were sleeping.
Fire Spread Rapidly
According to initial reports, the fire spread quickly inside the home, generating a dense cloud of smoke that prevented the two minors and the adult from escaping on their own. They began screaming for help.
Upon hearing their cries, neighbors entered the property and managed to bring them to safety. Firefighters arrived shortly after to control the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent houses.
Occupants Suffered Nervous Crisis
Paramedics provided care to all three individuals for nervous crisis, though hospital transport was not required. The fire resulted only in material damage, and the cause remains unknown at this time.
Authorities urged residents to maintain prevention measures in their homes, especially at night, to reduce the risk of such incidents.
