Tulum, Quintana Roo — Police arrested two men in Tulum early Thursday morning after seizing a firearm and suspected drugs during a joint operation.
Officers from the Public Security Department and the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office detained Marcos Octavio “N,” 27, known as “El Tavo,” and Alex Adrián “N,” 30, known as “El Snaper,” following a 911 call reporting gunshots in the area just before 5 a.m.
During the arrest, authorities confiscated a .380 caliber pistol and multiple packages containing suspected drugs. Police recovered 75 packets containing green plant material resembling marijuana and 21 additional packets with solid fragments similar to crystal meth, commonly known as “piedra.”
The men were caught red-handed with the items, leading to their immediate detention for alleged drug-related offenses.
Both suspects, along with the seized firearm and suspected drugs, have been turned over to the State Prosecutor’s Office for further investigation. Prosecutors will determine the legal status of the detainees and conduct necessary procedures to clarify the circumstances of the case.
